20 June 1907 - 11 August 1931
Loredo entered films in 1928 and was most commonly associated with Laurel & Hardy short subjects. Her fiery Latin temper played excellent counterpoint to the team’s comic buffoonery. She made eight films in 1930/1931, and her star seemed destined to continue rising at the Hal Roach’s studio. Twenty-four year old Loredo entered Queen of Angels Hospital on June 11, 1931 for an emergency appendectomy and died two months later from peritonitis and other post-operative complications.
